Farewell, Jackson

Our little warrior
This past Tuesday, my family had to let go of our little boy, Jackson. He became very ill and the vet said the best thing was to put him to sleep.
It’s been hard.
It must be harder on my parents and sisters who saw him everyday. I can’t get over the fact that he won’t be there the next time I’m in Michigan. He was part of our family for 10 years.
I remember when we adopted Jacks from the Michigan Humane Society. At the time he was around 6mths old and his name was ‘Chief’. He was all over the place so I took him to obedience school. He was probably the worst behaved out of all the dogs! I even wondered if I made the right choice when we adopted him, but we all grew to love him the way he was.
Jacks was crazy! He’d get so excited whenever someone walked through the door of my parents’ house. His wagged his tail so fiercly that I think he bruised a lot of legs! I never met anyone more excited to see people than Jacks.
I’ll miss him heaps.
It’s Day Two since he left and the thought of him still hurts. I ache knowing that I couldn’t be there to say goodbye. At least he’s not in pain anymore.
*sigh*

My sisters and I all got some ink of ‘kapatid’, meaning ’sibling’ in Tagalog. We got it written in the ancient script called Alibata. They look sweet!!
I thought it’d be cool to share something that symbolised the three of us, especially since I only get to see them once a year. I miss them HEAPS!
